To include the perspective of local journalists, this panel discussion will explore the ways in which AI influences the work of local media. Considering that local outlets often operate as a “one-person newsroom,” where a single journalist works as editor, videographer, and producer, the key question is: to what extent can AI support the automation of certain processes?

At a time when distinguishing between authentic and AI-generated content is becoming increasingly challenging, and digital (gender-based) violence is rising and rapidly shifting in form, the discussion aims to open space for examining how local women journalists can protect themselves and how AI is reshaping their daily practices.
