Dr. Marina Tuneva is an independent strategic communications and media consultant, as well as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Communication Studies in North Macedonia. Marina holds a PhD in Public Relations and Interculturalism, a Master’s degree in IT and Diplomacy, a Master’s degree in Peace and Development, and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. In 2021, she earned a certificate for the successful completion of the Distinguished Humphrey Fellowship Program in Media and Information from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
From 2015 to 2022, she served as the Executive Director of the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia.
As an expert in the fields of public relations, strategic communications, media professionalism, and interculturalism, she is actively involved in numerous consultancy and research projects in these areas, both nationally and internationally. She is the author of many academic and professional publications, including Guide to Media Integrity – Between Challenges and Solutions, From Local Experiences to Local Standards: Ethical Challenges and Solutions in Journalism, Handbook for Gender-Sensitive Reporting in the Media, International Actors, the 2001 Conflict in Macedonia and Peace Journalism, Public Relations and Interculturalism: Communication and Information on the Ohrid Framework Agreement, Guidelines for Inclusive Reporting, Media, Citizens and Intercultural Communications, Handbook for Reporting on Diversity, Introduction to Public Relations, among others.
