Katerina Topalova is journalist at the public broadcaster, Macedonian Radio Television (MRTV). She was born on 28th of August, 1987 in Shtip. Since 2009, she worked for Alfa TV for three years, covering issues such as EU integration and foreign affairs. She studied journalism and has masters degree in Media and Communications. She was trained at the world-renowned Missouri School of Journalism at the USA in 2019. Katerina was awarded by UNHCR and Association of Journalists of Macedonia in the category for a TV show, feature or short documentary in 2019. In June 2020 Katerina was awarded by Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia for two TV stories on the call for Best Journalistic Stories related to reporting on the pandemics of coronavirus (CОVID-19), the associated challenges and arising consequences. In 2021, Katerina won the prestige award “Nikola Mladenov” for best innovative story by Macedonian Institute for Media. Katerina is trained educator by European Broadcasting Union, and is part of the biggest project for Media Literacy “You Think” in Macedonia.
