Home to the world’s largest radio telescope—so sensitive it could detect an iPhone on Mars—the area enforces a near-total ban on cell phones and electronic interference, though restrictions on WiFi have gradually eroded. Known as the Quiet Zone, it has become a refuge for both scientists and those seeking escape from the noise of modern life.
