The workshop “Safety of Women Journalists in the Digital Space: Risks and Protection from AI Misuse” is an interactive training session dedicated to identifying, mapping, and addressing digital threats affecting women journalists and journalists in general. The focus is on gender-based violence, online harassment, hate speech, manipulation, disinformation, as well as emerging risks related to the misuse of artificial intelligence – particularly deepfake technologies and identity impersonation.

Participants will be introduced to the local context through real-life cases from North Macedonia and the region, with a joint mapping of the challenges faced by journalists.

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness, strengthen capacities to defend against digital attacks and AI misuse, and create a safe space for sharing experiences and practical solutions.
